Reclining on the chair, Braheem had his eyes vaguely staring at the distant Great Pyramid of Giza through the open window. Not bothering his cardiologist’s advice, he lit another cigarette. It was the third one that he would smoke since his son Lateef had gone to the Giza Pyramid, leaving him alone in the house. From time to time, his mind reminded him of what the cardiologist had said to him during his last visit to his clinic: ‘Dare not to light a cigar. But if the temptation overpowers you and you light one, then enjoy the first puff by taking a lungful of it because you will not live to relish the last puff at it.’ His sight strayed to the butts of two cigars that were lying scattered on the polished marble floor of his bedroom. A sardonic smile appeared on his drooping lips, remembering the face of the doctor above his tie-tied neck. With his fear of a heart attack much allayed now, his hope of finally getting his hands on the hidden treasure of Pharaohs again resurfaced, thawing his long-standing melancholy that no psychiatrist had been able to cure. Why does Lord Shiva wish me to be here now, in this land of the Pyramid? Is something similar to what had happened more than two thousand years ago imminent—when beckoned by the constellations of the stars, I had to walk over the snow-covered Pamir Mountain to reach Jerusalem to welcome Joseph’s newborn son to this world? The world is no less filthy now than it was then. Humans, enslaved by self-invented technology, have lost the ability to distinguish Dharma from Adharma. Each of them is now pursuing instant material gain, treading every path that leads to money, fame, and power, regardless of how unethical it may be. The time is ripe to eliminate the bad elements of this race and reestablish the value of Dharma in the world. Does the current call of Shiva have something to do with Kalki, the Avatar of Lord Vishnu? Has the much-awaited auspicious moment arrived? Have the cave-living wise men of Gyanganj begun trumpeting their conches together? Has the God of destruction, Lord Shiva, begun his cosmic dance in preparation for hurling his dreaded trishul? Or, has He already launched it?

Nuclear fission is a monster breeding a lot of radioactive poisons. Safe disposal of spent fuel is still a burning issue. We have failed to learn from the environmental disasters at Fukushima, Chornobyl, etc. This novel, authored by me, shows how extreme terrorism can mutilate the resonance and harmony on a cosmic scale. Besides, is it not true that a couple of molecules of radioactive substances will have a splintering effect on the surrounding tissues after they enter a human body through food or air?
