Subhasish Pathak, a professional engineer (B.Tech from the prestigious IIT Kharagpur, India), has always been fascinated by the structural stability of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Why did the ancient builders make it so stable and indestructible that the Sun cannot roast it, floods cannot sweep it, quakes cannot bury it, wind cannot blow it, and fire cannot burn it? Is it hiding something very precious or perilous? The purpose of building this most rugged and giant monument must justify the immense effort invested in it. His decade of hands-on experience in producing Iron and Steel in large furnaces (as an Executive at Steel Authority of India Ltd) convinces him that the ancient builders had to mobilise a large workforce and deploy a multitude of high-tech machines. Can the purpose of building it be as simple and foolish as to preserve the mummified bodies of dead Pharaohs? From his decades of experience in academics as a science teacher, he understands how fragile the balance in nature is and how dangerous the proliferation of fission-based nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors (when a foolproof solution to Spent Fuel storage is yet to evolve and what a catastrophe extreme terrorism can lead to) can be. Inspired by his wife, Rinku, he decides to pen his thoughts in the form of this novel. His experience with firearms and mock fighting (as an NCC air wing cadet) has helped him construct the fight scenes in this novel.
He is an expert coach who explains XI/XII-level Physics to IIT/NIT and NEET aspirants. Starting in 1998, just to feed his passion for Physics, he continuously sharpened his skills to become Pathak Sir, as he is widely known today. He prepares standard XI/XII students for Board exams (CBSE) as well as JEE (JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and NEET). In his class, he first explains each topic to the core; then he derives the formulae that are very important for the Class XII Board Exam. Lastly, he exposes the students to solving critical numerical problems by applying the concepts they have learnt.
